Paratext is pleased to announce that the index of publications available through the USDA’s Economics, Statistics and Market Information System is now available to search in U.S. Documents Masterfile.

Maintained by Cornell University, the Economics, Statistics and Market Information System (or ESMIS) online index is a clearinghouse for publications produced by agencies within the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Five agencies within the USDA produce the nearly 2,300 publications listed in this index, which includes both historical and currently-updated material covering all aspects of the field of agriculture.

Inside this fascinating source, find datasets detailing the use of chemicals in agriculture, statistics on the consumption of meat during the 1940s versus the 1970s, and weather data from the 1860s to the 1940s broken down by region—to name only a few of the useful resources now available to USDM users.

Start your search of the publications available via USDA ESMIS today.

Users of U.S. Documents Masterfile can access entries from the USDA Economics, Statistics and Market Information System index. Check your institution’s database subscriptions to find if you have access to USDM, or sign up for a free trial at https://public.paratext.com/customer/.
